Dear Editor,
I am still waiting for whichever member of Parliament, not the Minister, or a few members of Parliament, to get together to bring forward a tangible proposal, which will be accepted. All I have been hearing and reading is criticism from those who claim to be opposition.
My parents always reminded me that if I can not improve it, don't criticise it. That is why I continue to mention that those members of Parliament who claim to be opposition are deceivers, because they brought the people to vote for them and turn around and are trying their utmost best to put a spoke in the wheel of whoever tries to get things rolling. By the way, politicians contributing towards their retirement pension is nothing new in the Netherlands Antilles.
I did not witness it, but I was told about a threat of higher supervision. That is why other measures have not been taken. If that is so, then I would believe that this would be the opportune time to bring out some good stuff to prove who is genuine and who is not. By the way, let me ask this question.
Do any of these young St. Maarten politicians approach any of the retired (older politicians), no matter from which party, for advice? If I can remember well, Mr. Leo Chance would talk to any politician anywhere. He once told me that any good politician wants good for their country and any politician can learn something from another politician because no two people think alike. In closing, I would like to suggest to those members of Parliament who ask ridiculous questions, to dedicate some time to the Constitution as well as the political history of the Netherlands Antilles.
