If I have it right, one of the definitions of discipline is “following rules”. I will declare something here and will challenge anyone who corn I mash to put me in my place. “There is very little discipline in the governing of country St. Maarten.”
If one would go back in the academic school years 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008 of the PSVE and compare the passing percentage of each mentioned academic year, one would want to know “what happened”.
An observation that was made about that specific academic year was (paraphrasing) “He come in here like a one-man gang, making us all look bad.”
I know that several of the teachers of those years have retired, but they should be able to recall that occasion. Every disciplined government operates with statistics and they use those statistics to evaluate progress.
Also to follow what causes eventual fluctuation? The new academic school year is around the corner. Owing to what has been proven during one of those mentioned academic school years, may I suggest the ban of cell phones in schools?
Upgrade the communication systems in schools to ensure adequate communication with the parents. Don’t make excuses. Try it, you might like it.
What I know is I put children first.
