A yacht that was thrown onto Boulevard de France by Hurricane Irma, landing on the wall of the cemetery in Marigot, caught fire on Wednesday morning.
The Gendarmerie’s Lt. Colonel Sébastien Manzoni said the huge fire started around 8:00am and was not extinguished until midday. The cause of the fire is under investigation. “It was totally burnt, but nobody was inside at the time,” he said. “I cannot say yet if this is a case of arson or not. We have to wait for the conclusion of the investigation.”
