PHILIPSBURG--Someone in St. Maarten is US $2.1 million richer. The ticket for the winning Super Lotto Jackpot of US $2,170,000 was purchased in Cole Bay.
The winning numbers for draw #656 on Friday, January 22, were 04, 11, 19, 21, 28 and the Super Ball number 04. The ticket purchased in St. Maarten matched the numbers drawn. The new starting jackpot is US $1,500,000.
This is the second big Super Lotto jackpot winner in St. Maarten. The Caribbean Lottery said in a press release that the winner, who had not come forward up to press time Friday, had chosen his/her own numbers and had bought the lucky ticket at Tackling Shell, Cole Bay, St. Maarten.
“We are excited to have a jackpot winner in St. Maarten,” said Super Lotto Brand Manager Fontana Roach. “Ask for the Caribbean Lottery and we will give you more! While the winner has not yet come forward, on behalf of the Caribbean Lottery I want to congratulate the winner on their big win.”
Site Manager in St. Maarten Paula Williams said the Caribbean Lottery was ecstatic for the winner.
“This is the culmination of the dream that we sell. That proud moment when we can showcase our winners knowing that your purchase was made from a reputable company. Seeing that persons’ lives will be changed gives me the utmost satisfaction in what I am doing. Keep on dreaming and playing and, yes, you too can be a winner,” she said in a press release.
The Caribbean Lottery said it was currently launching “a full-scale advertising campaign” aimed at informing players that the Super Lotto jackpot has been won. The company sad any applicable withholding taxes would be deducted from the winnings.
Super Lotto is played in Jamaica, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, St. Maarten, the USVI and Paraguay.
