Camillo Bakhuis.
WILLEMSTAD--Camillo Bakhuis is set to become the new head of Windward Islands Bank (WIB), the St. Maarten sister bank of Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB). On November 1, the 53-year-old Bakhuis will succeed the bank’s current head, Daisy Tyrol-Carolus, who is retiring at the end of the year following a long career with the MCB Group, the “Antilliaans Dagblad” newspaper reported.
Bakhuis has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector and previously worked for MCB in Curaçao for 13 years. He is currently the director of Gi-Ro Settlement Holding (GSH), the organisation responsible for the winding-up of Girobank.
The final months of the year at the Philipsburg-based bank will focus on the handover process, during which Tyrol-Carolus will familiarise Bakhuis with his new role.
