Statia water tank
- EUSTATIUS--Water rationing goes into effect in St. Eustatius today, Tuesday.
Water will be flowing from 5:00am to 8:00am and 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Outside of the stated hours, water will be off as the tank supply is replenished. The water rationing will be maintained until further notice, according to St. Eustatius Utility Company Stuco.
Water will be rationed to prevent depletion of Stuco’s water storage tank. The company hopes this action will alleviate the possibility of a water shortage.
Due to the dry season, the company has been very active in monitoring the storage tanks.
A significant amount of water was lost last week due to a broken pipe. The broken pipe was repaired quickly, but not before a major water loss.
