COLE BAY--A man suffered a fractured left arm at 12:30am Monday when he collided with a trailer truck near the Osbourne Kruythoff roundabout in Cole Bay.
According to the traffic report a private vehicle with licence plate P-7353 was travelling on A.J.C. Brouwer Road at high speed toward the Kruythoff roundabout while a trailer truck with licence plate Z-44 was travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of P-7353 lost control of the vehicle and collided head-on with the trailer truck.
Directly after the driver exited the private vehicle, the vehicle caught fire. The Fire Department came to the scene and put out the fire. The injured driver was treated on scene and taken to St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.
