ST. EUSTATIUS--Vaccinations for the second dose of the Moderna vaccine are currently taking place at Earl N. Merkman Sports Hall in St. Eustatius. In an effort to help provide persons who work during the day with the opportunity to also obtain their first or second dose of the vaccine, the Public Health Department stated that it has changed its opening hours today, Thursday, March 25, to 9:00am to 6:00pm, instead of 9:00am to 4:00pm.

This change was made especially for persons who are not yet registered for the first dose of the Moderna vaccine and who work the entire day. Persons are asked to bring valid identification (ID).

So far, 143 persons were vaccinated on Monday. Tuesday saw 175 persons taking the vaccine and on Wednesday, 211 persons received their second jab. Overall, 793 persons have received a dose of the Moderna vaccine.

The Public Health Department is encouraging everyone who is not yet vaccinated to call tel. 318-2981 to register and to pick up a health declaration form. Persons on the registration list can expect to be contacted by the Public Health Department for confirmation of their first dose.
