PHILIPSBURG—The Court in First Instance of St. Maarten on Thursday ruled as inadmissible the appeal by the United St. Maarten Party (USP) against a decision of the Main Voting Bureau to rake the name of candidate number 15 Thomas, C.K.W. of the ballot for the September 26 Parliamentary.

The required consent form for the candidate had been lacking when the USP’s slate was submitted on August 8. The party wanted Williams D.A. on the list instead and submitted the necessary documents for that person, but the move was considered too late. The position of other USP candidates won’t be affected, as only number 15 will be lacking.
