POND ISLAND--Six students from the University of St. Martin (USM) are representing St. Maarten at the Kingdom Startup Programme in Aruba, where they are developing innovative business ideas alongside young entrepreneurs from across the Dutch Kingdom.
The students are competing as two teams of three after being selected to participate in the regional entrepreneurship programme, which brings together aspiring innovators from Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and the Netherlands.
According to USM, the programme is designed to help participants develop business ideas, strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and collaborate with peers from across the Kingdom.
During the opening activities, the USM delegation met with State Secretary Eric van der Burg, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in strengthening collaboration throughout the Kingdom.
USM said the two teams have already made a strong impression during the programme through their creativity, teamwork and innovative ideas.
The Kingdom Startup Programme offers participants mentorship, interactive workshops, networking opportunities and the chance to refine their business concepts while learning from experienced entrepreneurs and industry professionals.
USM congratulated its student entrepreneurs for representing both the university and St. Maarten on the regional stage and wished both teams continued success as they progress through the remainder of the programme.
