US recognizes ENNIA’s emergency regulations

WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG--The court in the United States has granted legal recognition of insurer ENNIA’s emergency regulations as requested by Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) and the insurer. The judgement was issued on Thursday.

The court hearing of the legal recognition took place on December 12.

With the legal recognition, the steps required in the United States for ENNIA’s restructuring can be implemented more easily. The aim of the restructuring is and remains to improve ENNIA’s solvency, said CBCS in a press statement.

CBCS will continue to inform the community about the progress of the restructuring process, provided the provision of information does not interfere with the restructuring process or make the process more difficult.
