Update on MDGs

Prime Minister William Marlin presented an update Monday afternoon on St. Maarten’s progress in implementing the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York, a United Nations event that is a central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Marlin, speaking on behalf of the Dutch Kingdom delegation (in photo), told the forum the four autonomous countries “wholeheartedly embrace” the goals. On the St. Maarten front, he said the national health insurance scheme was being worked on and a new hospital was “on the books.”
