Debris left behind poses a potential hazard to pedestrians and drivers on St. Eustatius. For contractors to place underground cables around the island, roads and sidewalks were broken open. Normal procedure is these are to be re-paved or repaired upon cabling completion. This was not done by some contractors, as is evident in Princess Garden where sidewalks were not levelled, and large boulders were left on the sidewalks
