Two Winair airline pilots promoted to captain rank

AIRPORT--Winair announced the upgrade of two of the company’s local first officers to the rank as captain, St. Eustatius’ own Ivanio Courtar and St. Maarten’s Edison Hodge, who both have shown dedication and diligent work were rewarded with the promotion to captain and accepted their fourth stripe this week.

Special congratulations went out to the Director of Operations Captain Edwin Hodge as Edison is not only part of the Winair family, but very much a part of his.

“It is with pride we employ both father and son with the rank of Captain and are confident Edison, Ivanio and Edwin will continue in their quest for excellence,” stated a Winair press release on Thursday.

“The quality and commitment of young men like Edison and Ivanio makes us proud and is truly a positive statement of these young men’s characters,” said Winair Managing Director Michael Cleaver.
