PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) announced on Wednesday that two board members have resigned from its board and their seats are now available for interested candidates.
“In accordance with the Federal Ordinance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (P.B. 1944 No.202) there are two vacant seats, one for the representation of small businesses and one vacant seat for the representation of large businesses.
“One seat is for the representation of small businesses and the term for this seat will end on December 31, 2019. One seat is for the representation of the large businesses and the term for this seat will end on December 31, 2018. In that regard, interested persons are informed that postulation will begin today, November 16, 2017, and postulation forms can be picked up at COCI as of then,” stated the press release from COCI on Wednesday.
The postulation period is from November 16 to November 30 at 12:00pm.
“The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce will not be posting its eligible voters list in the local newspapers because it is not completely updated. We kindly advise once again that the voters could visit COCI on C.A. Cannegieter Street #11 to find out if they are on the eligible voters list. The eligible voters list will be posted on COCI’s website as well,” concluded the release.
