Two Chinese supermarkets victims of armed robberies

MARIGOT--Two small Chinese supermarkets fell victim to armed robberies on Sunday afternoon, the Gendarmerie reported.

The first occurred on Rue Nana Clark in Agrément at 12:15pm where two individuals on a scooter and wearing helmets held the cashier at gunpoint before stealing mixed US dollars and euros totalling about US $500.

About 15 minutes later another supermarket on Rue de Hollande was robbed with about the same amount of money stolen.

Capitaine Régis Turlan Arto said it is suspected the same two individuals are responsible for both robberies.

No injuries were reported in each case. An investigation has been opened.
