Two armed men rob Mc Donald’s

BELVEDERE--Two armed men stormed into the McDonald’s fast food outlet near Belvedere around 10:15am Wednesday and carried off one of the establishment’s cash registers in a daring mid-morning robbery.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a police press release that the two gunmen dressed completely in black with their faces covered had “forced themselves” into the establishment, had threatened employees with their guns and had taken one of the cash registers.

The Daily Herald understands that one of the employees was injured during the incident. The suspects fled in “a small white” vehicle. Henson said a search of “the entire area” had not led to any arrests.

Several police patrols and detectives responded to the robbery report. The Special Robbery Unit will be investigating the case.

Residents are said to be growing concerned and increasingly fearful of the recent spate of armed robberies on the island.
