At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ida waslocated near latitude 19.6 North, longitude 45.5 West.  Ida ismoving toward the east near 6 mph (9 km/h).  A turn toward thenorth is expected by tonight, followed by a northwestward motion byFriday night.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)to the southeast of the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
