Tourist drowns at Kim Sha Beach

COLE BAY--A sixty-year-old tourist visiting the island from Ukraine drowned on Kim Sha Beach Sunday afternoon.

  The Daily Herald understands that the man was not showing any signs of movement while in the water. A number of beachgoers rushed to the man and brought him to shore.

  They performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him while paramedics were called to assist with the situation at the beach. He was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.

  Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said on Sunday evening that the man did not make it and passed away at the hospital.
