POND ISLAND--TelEm Group will be joining J’ouvert Morning party animals “Team No Sleep” to bring in the first day of St. Maarten’s historic Carnival 50 on April 27.

The announcement was made this week by TelEm Group’s Marketing and Sales Department, represented by Marketing Officer Stephani Jong Loy who introduced organisers of Team No Sleep Ghazi and Michael “Sponge” Angelo.

“The name speaks for itself,” said Loy. “No snoozing and definitely no sleeping until J’ouvert is in the rear-view mirror of Carnival 50.” She promised an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Adding to the J’ouvert fun this year is a new creation of Team No Sleep in the form of a halftime show on J’ouvert Morning.

The organisers explained that halfway through J’ouvert Morning, on the so-called animal stretch between Laser 101 and the zoo, and around the Gyro King Shawarma restaurant, formerly Abu Ghazi, there will be a short stop for J’ouvert revellers to tank up on coloured powder, foam, water, confetti and music.

“There will be more extra supplies than ever at our halftime pit stop before setting off on the second leg,” she said.

Also joining Team No Sleep is Da Big Bad XP Band – another huge TelEm partner on the Carnival Parade road – and sponsored liquor brand Johnny Walker.

Top St. Maarten deejays have also been invited along, promising some original sounds and sets on the J’ouvert Carnival road.

“It’s all fun and it’s all happening with TelEm Group for Carnival 50, and with Team No Sleep,” Loy said.
