Tabs for wheelchairs

Rotaractor Micaela Hart placed a jar at University of St. Martin (USM) for students to put their can tabs in. The can tabs are shipped to Canada where they are sold for their aluminium value. The money is used for the project “Can Tabs for Wheelchairs for Children.” When SCELL Director Eion Maison saw what it was for, he informed Micaela that he is the adviser to the Learning Unlimited (LU) Interact Club and asked if the Club could be involved. They visited the LU Interact Club and the Interactors decided to hold a contest to see which class at LU could collect the most can tabs. The Grade 3 pupils won the challenge. The container handed over to Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle contained the tabs collected at LU along with those collected at USM.
