PHILIPSBURG--Opposition bloc “Super Seven” has requested a Parliament meeting with Justice Minister Edson Kirindongo to get an insight into the Ministry’s policy on vote-buying. The request for the meeting was submitted to Parliament Chairwoman Sarah Wescot-Williams on Wednesday.
United People’s (UP) party Deputy Leader Member of Parliament (MP) Franklin Meyers told The Daily Herald a public meeting was vital to bring much-needed clarity about what is considered vote-buying.
“Vote-buying must be and needs to be clearly defined to the population. There has been so much attention placed on vote-buying, we would hope by now the Justice Ministry and, by extension, the coalition would have a policy formulated and a way to inform the people,” said Meyers.
