ST. EUSTATIUS--A leak in utility company STUCO’s water-distribution system left customers in St. Eustatius without water on Thursday.

STUCO clients were without water from the early morning hours until around 2:30pm. Residents with cisterns at their homes were not overly affected by the outage.

STUCO stated that their Water Department had found an underground leak and due to the leakage, the water network was shut down to allow repairs to the affected area.

The leak was located outside Queen Beatrix Medical Centre. A wall had to be broken before the leak could be repaired.

STUCO extended its apologies to its customers for any inconvenience the leakage has caused.
