Statia welcomes  first baby of 2021

ST. EUSTATIUS--The first baby of the year in St. Eustatius was born on Sunday, January 3. Baby girl Angelica Hook was born at Queen Beatrix Medical Centre at 10:15am.

  Angelica’s proud parents are mother Vakisha Hook and father Javier Batista. The baby was delivered by midwife Diana Cumberbatch. Baby Angelica weighed 3,780 grams.

  A total of 50 babies were born to their Statian parents last year. Those babies were born in either St. Maarten, Bonaire or Statia, the midwife said.
