St. Martin wins ‘Best Event Destination  in the Caribbean’ award in St. Lucia

MARIGOT--Saint Martin has won the “Best Event Destination in the Caribbean” award at the 2025 World Travel Awards ceremony held at the Sandals Grande Saint Lucian on October 4. The prestigious event was attended by the elite of the Caribbean and North American tourism industry.

    “This international recognition propels the island to the forefront as a benchmark for excellence, creativity and vitality in cultural events,” said Saint Martin Tourism Office. “It confirms the island's international influence and recognises the richness of its events offering, driven by flagship events such as the Gastronomy Festival and Carnival, which showcase Saint Martin's cultural identity.”

    The tourism office was represented by communication officers Malaïka Hunt and Roxane Fleury, who accepted the award on behalf of all those involved in bringing Saint Martin's events scene to life.

    “It is a tremendous honour for Saint Martin. It celebrates our people, our creativity and the dedication of all those who promote our island through unforgettable festivals and events,” added Hunt.

    “It belongs to everyone: organisers, artists, chefs, volunteers and partners, who contribute every day to sharing the true spirit of Saint Martin with the world. This distinction not only rewards the progress made, but also encourages us to aim even higher.”

    Saint Martin Tourism Office will continue its efforts to promote authentic, emotional and sustainable tourism, deeply rooted in the identity of the island.

    Created in 1993, the World Travel Awards are now recognised as the global benchmark for excellence in tourism. Every year, they recognise the greatest achievements in the sector in each region of the world, from the best honeymoon destinations to the most remarkable airlines, boutique hotels and adventure experiences.
