St. Maarten/St. Martin, Anguilla team up to draw South Americans

PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten/St. Martin and Anguilla have pooled resources to specifically attract visitors from the lucrative South American market.

Though numbers from this part of the world to the Northern Caribbean continue to grow, the three destinations are adamant about attracting these travellers in response to other destinations that are spending much more than all three destinations combined.

The campaign is entitled “The Best of the Caribbean” and is centralised around a campaign website

www.omelhordocaribe.com.br . The intention is to showcase the natural beauty found on the islands, attractions, etc., for those who want to spend a vacation, honeymoon or take part in any other travel pleasure.

The website provides a detailed overview of each country, with descriptions of beaches, hotels, activities, dining, shopping and nightlife. There is a version in Portuguese and one in Spanish. The site also features South American tour operator partners that offer specials and travel packages.
