Bharatanatyam on full display: SAMARPAN 2025

Classical Indian dance and music brought life to the Belair Community Center last Saturday evening, when students of the Naatya Arts Center Foundation delivered spectacular performances in Bharatanatyam dance, and Carnatic music.

The gala was a culmination of months of training by nearly 50 students, ages four through 18, under the guidance of teachers Aparna Samaga and Inessa Careto. With these recitals, the foundation hopes to promote Indian cultural heritage in St. Maarten and encourage the younger generation to connect with and preserve classical arts.

Its director, Aparna Samaga, is a classically trained Bharatanatyam dancer and opened the non-profit centre to promote and share the expressive art form. SAMARPAN 2025 was well received by a captivated audience, and won praise of Culture Department Head Clara Reyes, who congratulated Samaga on her commitment to the arts and achievements of the foundation.
