This afternoon through Friday midday: Easterly with a gentle to fresh breeze of 11 to 20 mph, with occasional higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will continue to generate easterly winds across the region. However, increasing moisture and weak instability associated with a surface trough will cause occasional cloudiness and passing showers during this forecast period.  Seas will slowly subside over the next couple of days before increasing again this upcoming weekend. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue being vigilant and using caution, especially in the northern and eastern waters.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough          WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet
