SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Friday midday: Southwest to southeast with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 10 miles per hour, becoming variable and calm at times.

SYNOPSIS: 

Lingering moisture and weak instability across the local region may result in cloudy periods and possible isolated showers during this forecast period. Winds are forecast to remain light and variable through Friday.

Slight to moderate seas are expected throughout the forecast period. However, small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to Moderate            WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURES:  
At 11 am, Tropical Depression Karl was located about 485 miles northeast of St. Maarten, and continues to move further away toward the northwest at 16 mph. Karl no longer poses a threat to St. Maarten.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Lisa located remains in the eastern tropical Atlantic, posing no threat to St. Maarten.  

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of these systems.

OUTLOOK through Saturday midday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers possible.
