SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Friday midday: Easterly with a light to moderate breeze of 07 to 16 miles per hour.

SYNOPSIS: 

A relatively dry and stable air mass has moved over the region. Therefore, fair weather conditions are expected to prevail throughout this forecast period. Additionally, the Atlantic high pressure system will maintain easterly winds.

Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to moderate       WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 11:00am, the center of Tropical Storm Fiona was located about 1500 miles east-southeast of St. Maarten and moving toward the west-northwest near 8mph. Maximum sustained winds were near 45mph with some additional strengthening expected today before slow weakening by the weekend.

The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
