At 11 am, Tropical Storm Karl was located about 840 miles east of St. Maarten. Karl is moving towards the west at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph. Karl is expected to turn toward the west northwest on Tuesday. This system is forecast to pass north of the Lesser Antilles on Wednesday. Residents are advised to keep updated on its progress.
A broad area of low pressure located in the Eastern Atlantic continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms and a tropical depression could form later today.
This system has 70%(high) chance for formation during the next 48 hours and a 80%(high) chance during the next 5 days.
