SSSD hosts workshop on fighting in schools Nov. 7

PHILIPSBURG--The Education Ministry’s Student Support Services Division (SSSD) is organising an interactive and informative panel discussion on the topic “fighting in schools: the role of schools, parents, police and social media.”

The workshop will be held at University of St. Martin (USM) on Wednesday, November 7, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The objective of the workshop is to educate and empower parents, teachers and the public via an open panel discussion regarding the recent surge in school fights, the influence of social media and the responsibility of schools, parents and police. Additionally, to the anticipated fruitful and interesting discussion with hand-selected panellists, the workshop will brainstorm solutions that can be used moving forward.

The public, particularly parents of primary and secondary school children, are urged to attend. Other parents, teachers and interested persons in the community are also encouraged to join the discussion.

Additional information may be obtained by contacting the SSSD at tel. 543-1235 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
