Shooting incident at Sandy Ground on August Monday

ANGUILLA--The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) has confirmed that there was a shooting incident at Sandy Ground on Monday, August 2, in the vicinity of Johnno’s Restaurant. It occurred about 5:45pm at the end of the boat race.

 

  As a result of the incident, one person has sustained injuries and is receiving medical attention at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. One person is in custody and is assisting the RAPF with the investigation.

  The RAPF is appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity or who may have heard or seen anything suspicious to contact the Major Crime Unit at 264-497-5333 or speak to any police officer. Additionally, information can be sent via the RAPF tips website by logging on to www.GOV.AI/911 which is a secure website.

  The police are encouraging everyone to seek the least violent path to resolving conflicts.
