Shoot Hoops not Guns Project heads to the district of St. Peters

St. Peters - Island Hoops and the Soualiga Social Movement Foundations continue their joint project, Shoot Hoops not Guns in the St. Peters community. The campaign was formally welcomed to be hosted in the neighborhood by the St. Peters Community Council and will be executed throughout the month of May.

The campaign for the district of St. Peters will consists of two consecutive weekends of community service starting on the 14th of May and ending with a grand 3 vs 3 basketball tournament for ages 12-17 and 18-26 on the 28th of May. On this day, there will be activities for the entire community; where talents of the community will be showcased and also a t-shirt drive. All residents of the St. Peters community are encouraged to come out and support.  

The following organizations have shown interest and commitment to making this a success in St. Peters: P.A.V.E, Department of Youth Affairs, G.I.F.T.E.D Foundation, St. Maarten Youth Council Association, Youth too Extreme (Y2X; Victorious Living's youth wing). 

Volunteers should register before May 18th with the St. Peters Community Councils or members of the Shoot hoops not Guns committee to ensure an organized service weekend.
