Seriously hurt child airlifted to Curacao

ST. EUSTATIUS--A seriously injured five-year-old child who fell from a height of twenty feet was airlifted from St. Eustatius to Curaçao via St. Kitts on Saturday. The child was first taken to Queen Beatrix Medical Center for treatment and observation where the decision was taken to medivac him and his mother off-island.
A pregnant woman and her companion also travelled on the air ambulance to Curaçao.
The plane brought in medical supplies for St. Maarten. Supplies were delivered to the neighbouring island on Sunday night.
Commissioner Charles Woodley, Council members Richelline Leerdam and Rueben Merkman and a large crowd gathered at the airport to see the plane off.
