PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) is inviting all band leaders, troupe leaders, sponsors of troupes and jump-up bands to a mandatory meeting at SCDF’s office on Illidge Road at 6:30pm Tuesday, March 19.
SCDF President Alston Lourens explained on Monday that although meetings had been held with all of these parties weeks ago, SCDF thought it crucial to call this mandatory meeting following the Causeway Jump-Up on Saturday night.
He said everyone must be on the same page when it comes to living up to obligations and following rules and regulations.
“The excitement for Carnival is very high and sometimes there is the urge to do a little extra, but we have to make sure that we are all in line. We stressed this before, but moving forward we felt the need to reiterate it again,” Lourens said.
