Safe to swim

Kimsha Beach and waters off Pelican are ready for swimmers, says Nature Foundation. This all-clear was given after the Foundation conducted an underwater check of the areas for sharp, harmful objects up to a depth of two metres. Numerous zinc pieces and other hurricane debris were removed from the water and disposed of by the Foundation. The beach was already extensively cleaned up by Buccaneer Beach Bar and its crew prior to the recent check. The visibility in the area is still not optimal; caution when entering the water is advised as is protective footwear. Swimmers and beach-goers are warned that hurricane debris can still wash ashore and could cause injury.
