St. Maarten Youth Brigade Major Rupshen Long received the President of Parliament Outstanding Youth Award on Tuesday for his commitment to the brigade members and to his country. He was one of those leading the charge in post-Hurricane Irma clean-up. He has grown in the brigade and now, as a junior coach, is mentoring youngsters in discipline and dedication to a better life and to the country. The brigade has some 40 members ages 13-21. Parliament Chairwoman Sarah Wescot-Williams commended Long on his contribution to the community and encouraged him to continue on this path.
