This “geyser” was created after workmen busy with placement of utilities cables underground hit a water main this afternoon. The damaged pipe on the road to Pointe Blanche caused flooding in the trench and contributed to the further slowdown of traffic. The traffic jams into and out of the area continue to give grief to road users. Worst still, several tour operators are said to have issued refunds to cruise passengers on Thursday due to delayed or disrupted tours because of the roadwork.
