De Weever urges jobseekers to attend Divi Job Fair Sat.

POND ISLAND--Jobseekers are urged by Tourism and Economic Affairs Minister Cornelius de Weever to polish up and print their resumes, and head to the job fair at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort tomorrow, Saturday. The fair set for the resort’s reception area is from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Available posts include clerk, guest service/front desk agents, front desk supervisors, general maintenance, servers, food and beverage supervisors, barista, hostess, housekeeping coordinator, room attendants, laundry attendants and supervisors, and houseman/driver.

Divi Little Bay Beach Resort plans to partially reopen on May 1.

De Weever commended the resort’s owners and management for being steadfast and committed in their redevelopment and re-opening of the property. ““This at the same time creates employment opportunities for the many who are jobless.”

“The re-opening of yet another resort in the country is great news for our economy.  It sends a strong message to industry stakeholders such as airlines and travelers that we are open for business.  Additional hotel rooms means more airlift for the country, more stay-over visitors and cheaper airfares,” he said.

The minister called on other closed resorts to fast-track their rebuilding plans “so our country can be back on track quicker, better and stronger.”
