Revision of civil servants’ pension back in Parliament

Revision of civil servants’ pension back in Parliament

PHILIPSBURG--The hot-potato topic of the revision of the pension of civil servants will again be discussed during the continuation of a public session of Parliament today, Wednesday, June 3, at 3:00pm.

The meeting had been adjourned on January 23. Minister of General Affairs Silveria Jacobs will be present.

The agenda point is the national ordinance amending the National Ordinance on pension for civil servants, amending the National Ordinance on the age limit for civil servants, and repealing the long-term allowance regulation pensioners of 1943.

Due to measures taken to mitigate the coronavirus, the House of Parliament is only allowing persons with an appointment to enter the Parliament building.

The parliamentary session will be held virtually and will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, 107.9FM, 98.1FM, www.pearlfmradio.sx, www.sxmparliament.org and Parliament’s Facebook page: Parliament of St. Maarten.
