Repairs on Sandy Ground bridge start February 18

MARIGOT--The Collectivité of St. Martin informs the population and especially mariners that the first phase of work to repair the cylinder of the Sandy Ground bridge will begin on February 18.

The repair of the cylinder has been paid for by the Collectivité at a cost of 22,000 euros and will require a week’s work before the Sandy Ground bridge can operate again at normal times.

A second phase of work, scheduled in 2019, will make it possible to carry out a more thorough intervention on the bridge. As this intervention has an estimated cost of more than one million euros, a competitive bidding process will be launched shortly through the opening of a public contract.

The bridge will be operational again at the end of February.
