MARIGOT--The organizing committee for Miss St. Martin/St. Barths for Miss France has announced registration is open for candidates until July 5, 2019.

Normally St. Martin alternates with Saint-Pierre et Miquelon in holding the local pageant, but this year Saint Pierre et Miquelon did not have enough candidates, thus the opportunity falls to St. Martin to find a successor to Miss St. Martin/St. Barths 2018 winner Allisson Georges. The local election will be held in October with the winner going on to represent the two islands at the Miss France pageant in December.

Young ladies ages 18-25 are invited to register. Candidates must be a minimum of 1.70 metres in height, have French nationality, be single with no children, and have no tattoos that would be visible in a bikini. Other requirements include e-mailing a portrait photo and a fully-clothed photo with no make-up applied. Photos must not be altered or air-brushed.
