WEATHER:   This afternoon through Friday midday: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times with a few showers.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Friday midday: East-northeasterly with a gentle to fresh breeze of 10 to 20 mph.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

The Atlantic high pressure ridge will generate a gentle to fresh breeze across the region. Patches of low level clouds embedded in the wind flow will cause a few showers during the forecast period.

Due to northeasterly swells, seas are expected to gradually deteriorate and peak near 8 feet tonight. A small craft advisory is now in effect for St. Maarten. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.  

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough        WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet

OUTLOOK through Saturday midday: Partly cloudy with a few showers possible.
