SYNOPSIS: Warm conditions will prevail across the region. Isolated showers are possible across the local area, particularly during the afternoons and late nights.
Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate for the next several days.
STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet
SPECIAL FEATURES: A tropical wave located east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward at 10 knots. Tropical cyclone formation is not anticipated however, it could bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to portions of the Lesser Antilles over the weekend into early next week.
Another tropical wave located over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean, is producing a small area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression could form early next week as it moves toward the Lesser Antilles.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system and update the public accordingly.
