This afternoon through Monday midday: Partly cloudy, hazy and breezy with a few showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Monday midday: East northeasterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 20 miles per hour and possible higher gusts.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

The strengthened Atlantic high pressure system will maintain mostly moderate winds and a relatively stable atmosphere during this forecast period. However, patches of low level clouds may cause a few showers as they drift across the region.

Sea conditions are expected to remain moderate during the next few days with waves peaking near 7 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

 

 

 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate       WAVES/SWELLS: up to 7 feet

 

SPECIAL FEATURE:  An area of cloudiness and thunderstorms associated with a westward moving tropical wave, is located about 300 miles east of the central Lesser Antilles. Significant development of this system is not expected as environmental conditions are forecast to become less conducive during the next few days. Nevertheless, it has a low chance (10 percent) of formation through the next 5 days.

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this feature.

 

OUTLOOK through Tuesday midday: Partly cloudy, breezy and hazy with local showers possible.
