This afternoon through Saturday midday: Partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy and breezy with isolated showers.

SURFACE WINDS:
This afternoon through Saturday midday: Northeast to southeast with a gentle to fresh breeze of 08 to 18 mph and higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS:
Conditions will improve today into early Saturday. However, tropical depression four is expected to degenerate into a remnant low or tropical wave, and pass north of the region Saturday into Sunday. This will bring additional moisture and instability across the local area and will generate more favorable conditions for showers and thunderstorms. Motorists and persons living in low lying areas should be vigilant.
Slight to moderate seas are expected for the next couple of days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11 AM, the center of Tropical Depression Four was located near latitude 15.6 N, longitude 50.9 W or 710 miles SE of St. Maarten. The depression is moving toward the west northwest near 21 mph, and this motion is expected to continue through Saturday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph with higher gusts. This depression is forecast to degenerate into a remnant low tonight.
This system does not currently pose a direct threat to St Maarten and will continue to be monitored by the Meteorological Department of St Maarten (MDS). MDS encourages the general public to continue following the updates on this system as well.

OUTLOOK through Sunday midday: Partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy with isolated showers.
