SYNOPSIS:
Moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave passing through the region along with favourable upper level support, will generate cloudiness with showers, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms across the forecast area. Residents and motorists in flood prone areas, should be vigilant as possible heavy downpours may cause street flooding.
Additionally, moderate to rough seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with waves peaking near 9 feet. As a result, a small craft advisory is in effect for above normal seas and high winds. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE: A tropical disturbance, referred to as Potential Tropical Cyclone Two, located (689 miles south southeast of St. Maarten), several hundred miles east- southeast of the southern Windward Islands, has a 90 percent chance of developing into a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. This system poses no threat to St. Maarten.
OUTLOOK through Wednesday midday: Partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy with isolated showers and thunder.
