PSB Bank to open to clients tomorrow

PHILIPSBURG--Postspaarbank PSB will open its door to its client tomorrow, Friday, after the forced closure due to monster Hurricane Irma. Account holders can withdraw a maximum of NAf 1,000 at a time until further notice.

The Bank, located in the Ms. Lalie Complex on Bush Road, opens to the public from 9:00am to 1:00pm, PSB St. Maarten Head Wayne Johnson told The Daily Herald.  All employees of the Bank must return to work promptly for 8:00am tomorrow.

The NAf 1,000 limit is in keeping with a decision from the Bankers Association.

When more banks open their doors the limit would also be the same at the cashier, with provision ATMs for access to more. The withdrawal amounts for other commercial banks will be US $1,000.

The limit is a temporary measure due to the 8:00am to 3:00pm government-imposed curfew. PSB is the only bank with guilders-only accounts. Western Union services are not available at PSB.
