Roads were temporarily blocked this afternoon for the transport of prisoners in three busses accompanied by law enforcement vehicles from the Pointe Blanche House of Detention to Princess Juliana International Airport SXM. Some 64 of them are being flown to the Netherlands as part of the Hurricane Irma relief effort to alleviate the situation at the correctional facility also due to damage at the police cells complex in Philipsburg. Traffic was quite congested for a while.
